Since
arriving in Australia my main focus
is the figure although my work is not about the figure. I rather
use her as a way in, as a reference point to get me started. As
Braque said "It is not the objects that matter to me but what
is inbetween them and myself". My aim is not to draw or paint
the object but the effect that it produces. The figure is the catalyst
for what wants to be expressed through me. I try not to control
the result but rather to let it emerge. Life drawing keeps me in
the moment.
